Brandspank was chosen to create the official World Rugby opening titles sequence for the world feed of Rugby World Cup 2015. Working closely with IMG in London to ensure tournament branding was seamlessly integrated into the sequence was a key part of it’s success.
The sequence was built entirely in 3D with an animated player from each competing nation represented. For this project Brandspank worked with the high end talent and facilities in AUTs motion capture unit to produce authentic athletic motion. This version integrates ANZ, the New Zealand sponsors of the RWC2015 broadcast - integration which has become such a critical component of any sports broadcast.
The sequence was screened in hundreds of countries around the world and enjoyed by an audience of 120 million during the final alone.
