GLOW is a large scale annual Christmas event held at Vector arena, enjoyed by a crowd of 10,000 people and pitched at a broad family audience.
As a part of the event, a year specific brand is required based on the event's set theme, the 2013 theme being 'Shining Like Stars' . Aiming to reference the stain glass window from St Pauls Symond Street, we embarked on designing a brand campaign that utilised the glowing colour palette of stained glass in a modern and contemporary way.
Colour gradients were used heavily in the logo mark that was then translated into promotional imagery that featured a series of glowing children's faces, all emblazoned with the colourful star design. Executions for the brand included a street poster campaign, billboard, postcards and press advertising as well as in show projections.
Large scale, engaging portraits of children emblazoned with the brand mark formed the basis of the advertising campaign. Shot by Tom Roberton, these engaging images became iconic brand emblems that were seen Auckland wide.
